Ponting's Take On Bowling, Over Rates, and Symonds

Australian skipper Ricky Ponting's comments in Australia after the 0-2 loss to India in the four match series in India.

Ponting has written in his "Captain's Daiary 2008" about bowling in India, the over rates and also about Symonds.

On Bowling in India:

"I have said since I got back that there are a host of things that conspire against you in India. It is a hard place for fast bowlers to get through their overs."

On Slow Over Rates:

"There is a great responsibility for everyone around the world to look at this over rate issue and make sure each team is doing the right thing by the game."

On Andrew Symonds:

"I don't expect him to be the model citizen when he comes back into the side, I expect him to be the Andrew Symonds of old. That's what we all love about him."

Kumble Not Ready to Quit!

The Indian Skipper and veteran player Anil Kumble said that he is not ready to call it a day yet. Kumble will be celebrating the beginning of his 39th birthday in another 10 days--October 17.

In an interview to the private television channel, he said:

He will listen to his body than anybody else. If the body feels tired and is not cooperating, then he will call it a day;

He is the only player who is playing in Test Cricket after quitting ODI;

If a person is going through a bad patch, then everybody talks about the retirment;

It has become normal to talk about retirements once the player reaches 35.
