Prince return as Captain!
With Greame Smith injured during the second test against Australia, Ashwell Prince, the vice-captain under Smith has been given the top job.
Neil McKenzie and Morne Morkel were dropped from the team for the third test match in Cape Town. Prince will open the innings along with the debutant Imraan Khan. Albie Morkel is also expected to make his debut in Test cricket.
Ashwell Prince has captained South Africa during 2006 against Sri Lanka. Greame Smith was injured during that time and Prince became the first black captain for South Africa. The luck did not favor him as South Africa lost both the tests (0-2) Sri Lanka.
He has played 47 tests with 2924 runs in his career. He has scored 10 hundreds and has an average of 45.68.
Hope he can turn the luck in favor him this time!
South Africa squad for the third test: Ashwell Prince (Captain), Imraan Khan, Hashim Amla, Jacques Kallis, AB de Villiers, JP Duminy, Mark Boucher (wk), Paul Harris, Albie Morkel, Dale Steyn, Makhaya Ntini, Wayne Parnell.
