England Finish Formalities - Series is levelled!


England finished the formalities on the 5th day levelling the series 1-1. Resuming at 242 for 6, New Zealand's chance of winning or playing out the 90 overs was almost impossible. As expected, England started by picking the wicket of skipper Vettori for a duck. He was caught by Cook off Sidebottom.


Mills accompanied McCullum and addd 24 for the 8th wicket. When Mills on 13, he was trapped in front of the wicket off Sidebottom. Gillespie was caught behind of Anderson for 9. The last batsman to get out was McCullum on 85. He played sensible cricket, but no one was there to give him company in the middle.


Sidebottom picked 5 wickets while Anderson and Broad picked two each. Ambrose was declared as player of the match.
