Sachin, who was in good touch gave a straight return catch which Bollinger grabbed it well in the follow through. That was a big break through for Aussies.
Yuvaraj had a bad day. One should say that he faced a freak accident. Playing on the front foot, the ball hit the pad, popped up and went back. Yuvaraj trying to come back to the crease, brought his bat first, unluckily the ball hit the back of the bat and rolled to stumps.
Raina went for a duck in the same over to put India in deep trouble at 27 for 5 in 9 overs. Dhoni and Jadeja brought little pride by adding 48 for the 6th wicket but Dhoni was luncky to be given lbw which clearly pitched outside the stumps. Harbhajan lost his stump for a second continuous duck. India were in the danger of getting all out for less than 100.
Praveen Kumar and Jadeja brought respect to Indian score by 74 for the 8th wicket. Jadeja scored 57 in 103 balls. Praveen Kumar remained not out on 54 in 51 balls. India ended with 170 in 48 overs.
Australia had an easy chance to win the series one more time in India. Though Marsh went for 6, Watson and Ponting added 61 for the 2nd wicket and took Aussies close to the total. Watson and Ponting were dismissed in a span of 5 runs but White and Hussey played sensibly. They did not take any risk, just played singles and twos.
With this victory, Aussies have clinched the series 4-2. India has to win the last game in Mumbai to make it 4-3.
With this win, Aussies have retained their top spot in the ODI ranking while India has gone to third place with Proteas in 2nd.
