Dravid Dropped from ODI against Australia!

The selection committee announced the India team for the forthcoming 7-match ODI Series against Australia starting later this month. Australia is touring India and is playing seven ODI matches. They are leading the ICC ODI Rankings at top spot. If India can beat Australia, they will clinch the top spot with South Africa already in the third spot after knocked out of the Champions Trophy in the early stages.

Indian Wall, Mr. Dependable, Dravid is once again shown the exit door. This is not new for him as he's always been in-and-out of the ODI team in the recent past.

He was selected for the Champions Trophy and faired well, but considering the coming back of Sehwag, Yuvaraj, someone has to pave way for them.

Since his come back, he has scored 14, 47, 39, 76 and 4 in five innings; the 39 came in a crucial 95-run opening stand in the final of the tri-series in Sri Lanka. It was expected that Sehwag and Yuvraj would replace Karthik and Virat Kohli, their original replacements, but the selectors put faith in Kohli.

With Sachin, Sehwag and Gambhir on the top 3 slots, Yuvaraj, Raina, Dhoni will occupty the next 3 slots. Then, we have room only for Harbhajan, and 3 bowlers.

Also, replacing Dravid with part-time all rounders like Sehwga, Yuvaraj, Raina is good as they can bowl. They can play the fifth bowler role.

It is going to be really difficult for Dravid to come back to the team this team unless injury comes into play for one of these batsmen.

I would have brought in Sehwag, Yuvaraj in place of Yousuf Pathan and Dinesh Karthick. As Dhoni can do keeping and the series is played in India, Dinesh Karthick can immediately replace Dhoni without any time delay.

I would have removed RP Singh, Ishanth Sharma and brought in Munaf Patel and Sudeep Tyagi.
