Pakistan Captain and Coach Dumped!

Pakistan captain Younis Khan and coach Intikhab Alam were sacked by Pakistan Cricket Board today following the match fixing allegations against them in the Champions Trophy match against New Zealand.

In the semi-final against New Zealand, Pakistan were the favorites to win but they lost it. Skipper Yonis Khan had a fracture in the right little finger before the match against India.

He dropped a sitter at short mid-off for Grant Elliott of the young pacer Aamer. he was on 42 then and Kiwis were around 162 for 4, requiring another 70 odd runs. Elliott went on to score match-winning unbeaten 75 and built a nice partnership with skipper Vettori.

Both the mainstays of the Pakistan cricket team were also said to have fixed the match against Australia, throwing it away in the final overs. The loss incidentally pushed India out of the tournament.

The attitude of the skipper and the keeper were evident that they took it very lightly. There was no disappointment or frustration shown by them. Assuming they did the same in the final of the world cup, the body language would have been different, but in the game against Australia, it was differnet. This raised questions as to whether the match was fixed.
