The 2nd test was mostly affected by rain. The match started on fourth day with NZ team was looking for a win. They played positive cricket, but Bangladesh had to play slowly to ensure that they do not lose the rain affected game.
NZ declared their innings with 262 for 6 in 75 overs. Ryder top scored with 91. Bangladesh were struggling at 13 for 3 at the end of Day 4. Resuming the last day, they were pushed to 44 for 6, and NZ was looking for a win. But, Bangladesh lower order batsman played sensibly and saved the follow on. This helped Bangladesh to draw the second test and save second continuous loss in the series.
Man of the Match and Series was given to Vettori, the skipper of New Zealand. He was the right choice.
