The Indian Opener and dashing left hander of Delhi Gautam Gambhir took over Virendera Sehwag and grabbed the Castrol Cricket of the Year 2008 Award.
Sehwag missed it by a close margin and Gambhir deserves this award for his excellent performance in both T20 World Cup and also in the IPL.
His dashing style as an opener has given a lot of confidence to other players, especially in the T20 format.
